1, Research Scientist - Electrochemistry

Essential Responsibilities

Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams • Use electrochemistry as an enabling technology to develop new technologies in various applications, such as water, energy, etc. • Electrochemists are responsible for materials preparation and evaluation, device fabrication and process development; • Engineer position is expected to provide electrochemical process design and control optimization to meet system level performance and cost targets; • Flexible among programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses. • This is an Equal Employment Opportunity.

Qualifications/Requirements

PhD or MS (3+ years experiences preferred) majored in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering (water treatment process/device development, battery, fuel cells/alternative energy, etc.)• Strong background in electrochemistry• Experiences in materials preparation, functionalization, and characterization• Hands-on experiences in process development, strong capability to propose with the team on electrical system control strategy concepts, electrochemical process design trade-offs and system performance verifications. • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to contribute as part of a cross-functional team.• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships• Excellent problem solving skills, ability to consider overall problems, identify opportunities and implement major changes • Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver• Fluent oral and written communication in English & Chinese

Desired Characteristics

Ability to correlate chemical and physical properties of materials to batteries and energy storage applications is a plus.

2, Lead Scientist - Material Physics

Essential Responsibilities

 • Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses.

Responsible for development of innovative thin film materials/devices and process technologies in various applications, e.g. solar/thermoelectric energy, healthcare and public infrastructures.

Involve experimental research leading to the fundamental understanding of the device performance and fabrication process.

 • PhD in Physics, Material Physics, or Material Chemistry. 5+ years experiences in thin film deposition and device/material testing and analysis.

Proven technical skills in advanced theory and applications of thin film materials/device and materials characterization techniques.

Design and set-up lab bench scale prototype and guide pilot test operations.

Solve complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges and commit to project execution.

Build customer relationships and communicate with the customer on technology development activities.

Generate new ideas according to market needs and initiate new research projects.

Embrace EHS & play an active role in nurturing a culture of safety.

Qualifications/Requirements:

 • Ph.D/MS in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical engineering with strong chemistry background; background in process development, system design & integration, system modeling, is required.

Demonstrate capabilities in designing, constructing, and operating bench-scale or pilot equipments; experience in unit operation design and system integration, process modeling and optimization.
