The general area of research of Prof. Wang is computational and theoretical materials science. Specifically, he is interested in the study of structural, dynamical and electronic properties as well as phase transformation of condensed matter systems and molecules, including liquid and amorphous materials, defects, surfaces, clusters, and biological molecules.He is the Fellow of American Physical Society, 2014 and U.S. Department of Energy Materials Science Award for Sustained Outstanding Research in Solid State Physics, 1996. He has refereed Journal Publications: 300+, Books Chapter and Review Articles: 22 Invited Talks: 100+, Total Citations: 8000+ Highest Citations on Single Paper: 550+, h-index: 45. He received B.
