    The Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the 40th anniversary of School of Materials Science and Engineering

    From June  25th to 29th, The Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the 40th anniversary of School of Materials Science and Engineering took place in Cao Guangbiao Building, Yuquan Campus. In order to create colorful cultural life atmosphere and provide a platform for all the teachers, students, retired faculty and alumni from all walks of life, we held the exhibition specially, when celebrating the 40th anniversary. The exhibition, with the theme of "Remain true to our original aspiration and keep dedicated to the first-class construction", received positive responses from all the teachers and students of the school, retired teachers and alumni from all walks of life, as well as calligraphy and painting lovers, and collected more than 30 paintings calligraphy works.

    Our alumni, Huang Huashun, Dan Bojian, Zhang Zhen, Zhou Junhao, Zheng Jianxiong and Feng Shixun, and retired teachers, Xu Binhong, Gao Wenlong, Pan Yi and Wang Fupei, etc, signed up to participate in the exhibition and shard their precious works. In addition, the inscriptions by leaders for the 40th anniversary of our school were also exhibited. The calligraphy was powerful and the pictures was vivid.

    “Seeking truth is the road to civilization and being pragmatic is the root of development" by an academician, Zhang Ze, inherited the spirit of school motto and conveyed the sound of the era. "Truth, innovation, preciseness and pragmatism", by Sir Wang Qidong aged 97, the four-word motto encouraged present workers to establish excellent work concepts. Pan Yi, Gao Wenlong, Xu Binhong and Wang fupei were all retired teachers in science and engineering. After retiring from their posts of education, they began to learn painting again and with several years'hard work, they made great progress, which was very impressive.

    This calligraphy and painting exhibition fully demonstrated the humanistic qualities of teachers and students, retired teachers and alumni of School of Materials Science and Engineering, and also reflected the enthusiasm of the whole school to unite and concentrate on constructing "double first-class" discipline.
